Hello everyone - Sorry that I have not posted in a couple days. I've been quite busy with my new job and custom orders. <br />
But today I wanted to just say that I've discovered the joy of curating a treasury. I have always loved promoting other shops on my tumblr and twitter and such, but treasuries make it so much easier. I can browse and choose themes and items and neatly collect them into a treasury. <br />
I also joined a treasury team - Which has helped with getting my own items into collections.<br />
<br />
Defiantly give curating a treasury a shot if you haven't! It's so much fun. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Here is a link to all the treasuries that I've made to far : (Favorite them!)<br />

In other news, I got a job! Started on Monday with a 12 hour shift of training. It's not a hard job. I run rides at a family fun center. <b>A lot</b> of kids, but it is quite enjoyable. My legs are hurting so much from bending down and picking up plastic balls and putting them back in the ball pit. Have another 12 hour shift tomorrow! Wish me luck!PaperShellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07233836568460471034noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3026662273375993092.post-67005170889648179272011-07-23T18:15:00.000-07:002011-07-23T18:15:05.091-07:00Introducing : Atlas<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-57hccQmJiEo/TituzyzfYmI/AAAAAAAAACE/kqnA9VpiZ3I/s1600/SN850918.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear:right; float:right; margin-left:1em; margin-bottom:1em"><img border="0" height="200" width="150" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-57hccQmJiEo/TituzyzfYmI/AAAAAAAAACE/kqnA9VpiZ3I/s200/SN850918.JPG" /></a></div><br />
<br />
First off I'd like to introduce you all to the love of my life, Atlas. She's a year old, super adorable and a kitty cat. Now you are probably wondering why talk about a cat? What does she have to do with crafts and origami? <br />
Well, I'm pretty sure she loves crafts as much as I do. Every time I'm sitting, folding paper she creeps up and watches. She runs off with my yarn and ribbon, spreading it throughout my apartment. She also loves having her picture taken. So when I'm trying to photograph my work, she demands to be in the picture. <br />
<br />
Here are a few photos of her invasions :<br />

After a long day of going to stores, restaurants, etc. I was heading back to my apartment. Right next door to my apartment complex is a yarn store, <a href="http://www.hausofyarn.com/">Haus of Yarn</a>. Why not? I stopped by. "Are you accepting application?" The lady responded with a no, and asked if I crochet or knit. I said no, but I'm really into crafts. She replied with, "You kind of need to know how to crochet or knit to work at a *yarn store*..." <br />
Yeah? So for further information about crocheting I asked the <a href="http://www.etsy.com/teams/7722/business-topics/discuss/8702726/page/1">Business Forum on Etsy</a>. The people there were extremely helpful with types of yarn, hook selection, and just stories about how they got into crocheting/knitting. They inspired me to pick up the craft. <br />
I started very simple with a scarf - All double crochets : <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7TT2sU0prxo/Tihb71K-PwI/AAAAAAAAAB0/VX5vlMPLUE8/s1600/SN850804.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="200" width="150" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7TT2sU0prxo/Tihb71K-PwI/AAAAAAAAAB0/VX5vlMPLUE8/s200/SN850804.JPG" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XZNsJp7sVlw/Tihb8DuQZ9I/AAAAAAAAAB8/c2pYT_4TJFA/s1600/SN850808.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="150" width="200" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XZNsJp7sVlw/Tihb8DuQZ9I/AAAAAAAAAB8/c2pYT_4TJFA/s200/SN850808.JPG" /></a></div>Then I began searching for other patterns. And came across Amigurumi - Adorable animals and creatures. With the help from <a href="http://craftyiscool.blogspot.com/2011/01/wanna-make-monster.html">this</a> tutorial I made an adorable bunny :<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj28xRQ9wKKVwJ-X7SvDh5rQV2LL6KoGLUh382AfdG82B4kbUERiqNQD5aGLEIxi7qx3rX3xowJ2gOIGIDc03Fyc2Dp6igNq-k5TNJzMW8-j1IlaQsUG1wFt1C1GCkHt3_nI3wfp_3tzO9q/s1600/SN850989.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="150" width="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj28xRQ9wKKVwJ-X7SvDh5rQV2LL6KoGLUh382AfdG82B4kbUERiqNQD5aGLEIxi7qx3rX3xowJ2gOIGIDc03Fyc2Dp6igNq-k5TNJzMW8-j1IlaQsUG1wFt1C1GCkHt3_nI3wfp_3tzO9q/s200/SN850989.JPG" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CFqEvQQ9VxM/TihbBXoZr8I/AAAAAAAAABs/MY57tnMGDiM/s1600/SN850991.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="150" width="200" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CFqEvQQ9VxM/TihbBXoZr8I/AAAAAAAAABs/MY57tnMGDiM/s200/SN850991.JPG" /></a></div> -My kitty always likes to be in my photos.. <3<br />
<br />
I'd say I was successful with learning the basics of this craft. I'm excited to see what else I can accomplish in crocheting! I'm currently working on another scarf, with better/prettier yarn!PaperShellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07233836568460471034noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3026662273375993092.post-62600205211469870852011-07-20T14:28:00.000-07:002011-07-20T14:31:32.855-07:00Twilight Fans + Origami Paper Flowers = Profit?So I had this idea when I was organizing my bookshelf - (which severely needed to be done..) I came across some old books from my high school years in a box - One of them was of course the enchanting Twilight by Stephanie Meyer.<br />
By this time I had already sold two Kusudama Origami Flower Balls, and was looking for unique new ways to market them. So what about combining the elegant Kusudama Flowers with the fangirl crazed series Twilight..<br />
<br />
This is what I came up with :<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4J0uc_UW8IcgnHUVmWpi5y-IaPHNt-KDCi4JhRo5elxYaKE3dBXjHQL9_lOsIw4ydPKU7BOBaU-7Bj00RWZtolU1-pHEfYPxA8tuOb9FPYSZ2n2I8zgokGz3_eKIgl0H003-sdTwAAnWC/s1600/SN850780.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4J0uc_UW8IcgnHUVmWpi5y-IaPHNt-KDCi4JhRo5elxYaKE3dBXjHQL9_lOsIw4ydPKU7BOBaU-7Bj00RWZtolU1-pHEfYPxA8tuOb9FPYSZ2n2I8zgokGz3_eKIgl0H003-sdTwAAnWC/s320/SN850780.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zHYCpZede6A/TidG0JOI_OI/AAAAAAAAABE/3wkfDQboxzY/s1600/SN850798.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zHYCpZede6A/TidG0JOI_OI/AAAAAAAAABE/3wkfDQboxzY/s320/SN850798.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
