All I Do Is Fold.

Folding and Folding and Folding and Gluing. More and More Folding.

In other news, I got a job! Started on Monday with a 12 hour shift of training. It's not a hard job. I run rides at a family fun center. A lot of kids, but it is quite enjoyable. My legs are hurting so much from bending down and picking up plastic balls and putting them back in the ball pit. Have another 12 hour shift tomorrow! Wish me luck!

Introducing : Atlas

First off I'd like to introduce you all to the love of my life, Atlas. She's a year old, super adorable and a kitty cat. Now you are probably wondering why talk about a cat? What does she have to do with crafts and origami?
Well, I'm pretty sure she loves crafts as much as I do. Every time I'm sitting, folding paper she creeps up and watches. She runs off with my yarn and ribbon, spreading it throughout my apartment. She also loves having her picture taken. So when I'm trying to photograph my work, she demands to be in the picture.

Here are a few photos of her invasions :

Taking Up Crocheting :

So this all started last week, when I was job hunting. After a long day of going to stores, restaurants, etc. I was heading back to my apartment. Right next door to my apartment complex is a yarn store, Haus of Yarn. Why not? I stopped by. "Are you accepting application?" The lady responded with a no, and asked if I crochet or knit. I said no, but I'm really into crafts. She replied with, "You kind of need to know how to crochet or knit to work at a *yarn store*..."
Yeah? So for further information about crocheting I asked the Business Forum on Etsy. The people there were extremely helpful with types of yarn, hook selection, and just stories about how they got into crocheting/knitting. They inspired me to pick up the craft.
I started very simple with a scarf - All double crochets :

Then I began searching for other patterns. And came across Amigurumi - Adorable animals and creatures. With the help from this tutorial I made an adorable bunny :

-My kitty always likes to be in my photos.. <3

I'd say I was successful with learning the basics of this craft. I'm excited to see what else I can accomplish in crocheting! I'm currently working on another scarf, with better/prettier yarn!

Twilight Fans + Origami Paper Flowers = Profit?

So I had this idea when I was organizing my bookshelf - (which severely needed to be done..) I came across some old books from my high school years in a box - One of them was of course the enchanting Twilight by Stephanie Meyer.
By this time I had already sold two Kusudama Origami Flower Balls, and was looking for unique new ways to market them. So what about combining the elegant Kusudama Flowers with the fangirl crazed series Twilight..

This is what I came up with :

I created a set of 6 - Each with a different color rhinestone in the center (Link Here) , and a bouquet of a dozen flowers, each with a red rhinestone with black border.
The bouquet of a dozen sold after one day! I'm not sure if this is a coincidence, or the Twilight fans. Either way - I'm planing on making a Twilight Origami Paper Flower Ball next!
